Ah, summertime. A chance to get outside and enjoy the nice weather, have barbeques and picnics, sunbathe and go on lots of days out. The only problem is it can’t always be this way, and we’re always going to have rainy days where we’re stuck inside. If the forecast for your next day off work isn’t looking too great, here are a few things you could do to pass the time.
Have a movie day
Sometimes a lazy day in front of the tv is just what the doctor ordered. Watch movies of binge-watch series on Netflix, we all have people recommending us things but rarely have the time so now is the time you could take advantage. Bring down your duvet, light some scented candles and make yourself some snacks ready for a day of pure relaxation.
Play some games
If you want to spend time with your feet up but fancy something a bit more interactive then how about gaming? There are plenty of games you can download right to your device so no need to go to a game shop. You can also play the well-known
Solitaire. I simply love this game, such a classic!
Whether it’s for your Xbox, laptop or an app for your phone there are loads of options. If you live with friends or family, you could go old school and get the board games out.
Start a blog
Blogging is a fantastic hobby to have. You get to improve your skills from writing to design to photography. You get to connect with likeminded people, and if you stick with it, you might even be able to earn a living from it later down the line. There are lots of articles, Youtube videos and other pieces of information out there on how to start a blog, well worth giving it a go!
Try some baking
The great thing about baking is you only need a few simple ingredients and you can whip up something really impressive. Cookies, cupcakes or even a large layered cake if you’re feeling brave can often be made with things you likely already have in your kitchen. Eggs, flour, sugar, butter, milk, baking powder and icing sugar and you’re pretty much good to go. Bake for yourself, your family or create a gift to give to someone- who doesn’t like receiving baked goods?!
Declutter your home
Finally, this isn’t exactly much fun but it’s a great way to spend a rainy weekend if you’ve nothing else to do. Tidy home, tidy mind and decluttering is a chance to get rid of everything you no longer need and make space in your life for the things that you do. Pull out your wardrobe and sort through your clothes, go through all of your paperwork, empty drawers and cupboards and put them back so that everything is in order. Your home will feel tidy and organized, and you’ll feel so much better for it!
