I don't know about you, but I remember the day that the lockdown started like it was yesterday. I can't believe that more than a year has passed and that we're still battling this monster. Of course, I am more than happy that the lockdown has been lifted and now we can begin to do the things that we used to do before this nightmare started, but don't get fooled, this virus is still out there and in order to get through this safely, we need to take care and stay safe.
As someone that had most of her family infected with Covid, I can tell you that it's not fun, it's not easy and it literally turns your whole life upside down. We first found out that my husband has tested positive and that was pretty scary. Scary because we always respected all the safety measures and because now this virus was so close to us. The time that he spent in isolation was not only hard for him, but also for me. I had to take care of him, try not to worry too much about his situation, take care of the children, work and so on. It was a challenging time and to top it off, me and my oldest daughter tested positive for Covid 5 days later.
Luckily we are all ok but this was an experience that I wouldn't want to repeat and certainly, I will never forget. Now that the restrictions are beginning to lift and more and more things are possible, people will inevitably get more exposed, so it's crucial that you keep yourself safe. How? Take a look at the tips below!
Wear a face mask
If wearing a face mask one year ago was something quite unusual, nowadays this has become a standard practice in our everyday life. I'll be honest, it took me a while to get used to it, I couldn't breathe properly and I won't even begin to tell you about the mask acne that I got, but in the end, the main idea is to protect yourself and others and with that in mind, everything becomes easier to do, right?
Wash your hands & sanitize
This goes without saying, but I will mention it again. Washing your hands often with water and soap is extremely important. If the conditions are not ok for that, having a hand sanitizer with you all the time should also be on your must-have list. We are living difficult times and it's always best to know you're protected, right?
Regular Covid tests
The most important thing we can do now that the lockdown is lifted is to get regular tests to make sure we are ok. There are a lot of testing centers everywhere in the country but you also have the Covid test kits option. What is that? Well, on UK Wholesales you can find Covid test kits that you can do in the comfort of your own home and get the result in 30 minutes! Pretty cool right?
These tests are perfect, especially if you need to test yourself and your family often and in case you need to go somewhere and you want to be sure that you're ok.
Take your vitamins
Taking vitamins regularly was something new to me but it helped me a lot in my Covid battle. Before I got sick, I always took vitamins at my doctor's recommendation but afterward I started taking them regularly and I really think this helped me a lot! I also took care of what I ate, tried to eat as healthy as possible and I included a lot of veggies and fruits in my diet.
Be responsible
Being responsible for your actions is very important. If you feel you're not ok, test yourself, stay home and take the necessary measures. Keep the distance where needed, wash your hands and disinfect them regularly and don't forget to wear your face mask.
These are small things but it's the small things that matter and make our lives better, right? Take care and stay safe!
