The best thing about having your friends and family by your side throughout life is that you will always have the opportunity to throw a great party. Parties can be an awesome way to keep in touch with people you don’t see very often, and it is always fun to set everything up, right? With that in mind, I thought it will be a good idea to give you some tips for a successful party. You know, just in case you are thinking of hosting a party this summer and don't know exactly where to start. Without further talking, here are a few tips to help you achieve the best party!
Be welcoming
The most crucial thing you want to be when hosting a party is welcoming. When people come to your home and celebrate with you they will at first feel out of place. This isn’t their home and they won’t want to get over comfortable right away. However, you can make them feel at home as soon as they walk through the door with a big smile, a hug and a drink in their hand from the off. Be an attentive host and always make sure that your guests have a drink with them if they want one.
Decorate to impress
Summertime is all about bright colors and personality, and if you are hosting a summer-themed party indoors or outdoors you will want to make the most of the theme and decorate to the max. From the moment people walk through your front door they should feel like they have entered a party. Place garlands on the stairway and bring balloons into the hall for decoration. If you really want to bring the beach vibe to your party and you have the space for it, you can also consider hammocks. They look great and they are also super comfy.
Think about bringing flamingo, palm leaf and pineapple-themed decorations into the space and make the most of that summer atmosphere. You can also have some flower necklaces ready to fling around your guest's necks when they walk through the door. Keep in mind that at a party, the atmosphere is everything!
Great food and drinks
A huge part of a good party is the food and drink that you provide. You can make a range of different sandwiches and mini treats as well as buying in some cakes for dessert. You can also discuss with your guests up front and maybe everyone can bring something of their own, that way the food will be a surprise and it will make things more exciting.
Play games
If you are outside in the garden you can make the most of the weather and break out of the paddling pool for the day. You can have fun playing in the water, splashing each other and generally staying cool in the heat. A fun game to play would be a mini sports day between your family and friends where you play head-to-head in the running, a three-legged race, an egg and spoon race and a makeshift obstacle course. By the end of the day you’ll all be laughing, which can make for some great memories.
Another cool and entertaining way to have fun at a party is to play murder mystery games. I don't know about you, but I am a big fan of watching murder documentaries and I find these games very intriguing and fun to play at a party with your friends. It's something else than the regular party games and everyone can join and let their inner detective shine.
Get the tunes flowing
Music is a huge part of setting the tone for a party and you will want to ensure that the music stays happy and flowing throughout the time you are celebrating. The easiest thing you can do for yourself is create a playlist the night before and make sure that you place all of your favorite things on there. Add in some fun surprise songs to make people laugh and ensure that the playlist is long enough to run throughout the duration of your party.
